Stress:
The ability to maintain action.

Without
Stress, Who Can Survive?
Stress
helps us get things done. Without stress, we would live dull and
boring lives. No one would care about health, work, money, politics,
or anything else that makes our lives interesting. Yes, stress can
be helpful.
Too
much stress is not good for your health, but it turns out too little
isn't ideal, either. Stress can benefit the immune system, preparing
the body to withstand things like infections, and also pushes us
to be most effective at the tasks at hand.
While
chronic stress-the kind that never seems to let up-can set off dangerous
inflammation in the body, increasing your risk for heart disease,
obesity, and cancer, it turns out that in small doses, stress is
actually healthy.
Many
people don't think about stress management unless they're already
on the verge of burnout. With our busy lives, it doesn't always
seem obviously important to take on the practice of stress management
before a worn-out body or an overly taxed psyche force the issue.
The
key, to manage stress is balance. Too little stress and you're bored
and unmotivated; too much and you become not just cranky but sick.
Stress management brings positive outcomes like increased productivity,
better health and more happiness in general.
One
of the best ways to manage stress is to set personal goals. Goal
setting techniques are used by top-level athletes, successful business
people and achievers in all fields. Goals give you long-term vision
and short-term motivation. Goals provide definition about how to
think and act; goals help you organize your time and your resources
efficiently; goals helps you manage daily stress by taking consistent
action and becoming more productive with your time.

a Fit and Prosperous Life!
